FIND THE LOCATION OF HIJACKING HOTSPOTS IN SOUTH AFRICA!
1. JHB - Watch the William Nichol offramp climbing off the N1 from the Sandton side. Smash and Grab incidences are frequent, and the perpetrators hide behind or pass themselves off as vendors. They seem to be adept at stealing cellphones from hands free kits! Also 2 young ladies are running a scam asking motorists for 'petrol money' as their car has broken down! (thanx to William G)
2. Roodepoort - A new smash and grab site - at the intersection of Christiaan de Wet and Wilgerood ave. Smash and grabbers strike at night - there are no houses close to this intersection in the kloof. (thanx to Johan L)

4. JHB - SMASH AND GRAB HOTSPOT. CORNER OLD PRETORIA ROAD AND 1ST AVENUE, ALEXANDER! (thanx to Samantha S)
5. JHB - In the Midrand Region (Gauteng) - upon taking the New Road Offramp (at the robots, turning left). The area is dark, there are no lights. When approaching at night and you are the only vehicle, switch your brights on and then try and yield as that robot is red for a while !!! I've had an experience there, but fortunately I was wide awake and managed to avoid trouble! (thanx to Fundi)
6. JHB - We were hijacked in 11th Avenue, in Fairlands, Johannesburg on the 29th June at 8:55am. We were not even a whole block from the Fairlands Police Station! Speaking to the police, they said that there have been a few hijackings and attempted hijackings in Fairlands, especially since the beginning of 2002. (thanx to Lisa V)
7. JHB - Another favourite spot is Riviera Off Ramp near Killarney Mall. Lot's of smash and grabs happening there especially late afternoon and evenings. (thanx to Heinrich L)
8. Western Cape - My sister was involved in a smash and grab and has heard of others and witnessed one at the Vanguard Drive turn-off from N2. Apparently police are aware and watching - but don't actively do anything about it. (thanks to Carimah F)

25. Witbank - Middelburg R24 Highway, Ogies offramp hijackers dressup as cops and use blue light on vehicle to pull you off..

27. Centurion - Taking the John Vorster turn off from the N1, both directions.
28. Centurion - Taking the Jean Avenue turn off from the R28, both directions.
29. Erasmuskloof - Taking the Rigel Avenue offramp from the N1, both directions.
30. Menlyn - Taking the Atterbury offramp from the N1, both directions.
31. Hatfield - On the corner of Universiteits- and Lynwood Avenue.

33. Arcadia - Motorists using Duncan streets should watch out for red robot hijackers.
34. Arcadia & Sunnyside - Motorists using Walkerstreet should watch out for red robot hijackers.
